The International Conference, part of Proteger 2023 – 8th Security Conference, at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, aimed to present and discuss with national agents international best practices in the development of self-protection measures and fire simulation.
The conference included a training session with Tom de Nooji from Riskonet, on the subject of “Standard for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-based fire protection systems” on April 19 and two training sessions on “Empowering Portuguese SME with fire modelling tools”, on April 19 and 20, with Wojciech Wegrzynski ( ITB – Instytut Techniki Budowlanej- Poland), Gabriele Vigne ( JVVA Fire& Risk – Spain) and Bruno Lopes ( ETU – Fire Safety Consultants- Portugal).
On April 19, there was also a lecture in the Proteger auditorium on: The use of fire modelling tools in complex buildings, coordinated by architect Paulo Ramos from ETU Fire Safety Consultants, who presented the guide developed under the project: APSEI’s Fire Modelling Best Practice. Gabriele Vigne developed the topic: Performance Based Fire Safety Solutions for complex Industrial Buildings and Infrastructures. Wojciech Węgrzyński presented on: CFD modelling in enabling resilient and fire safe transport infrastructure.
